Dashing Deer and Detailed Deer Thinlits

DSC_0002

This is absolutely the best stamp set and thinlit bundle in the Holiday Catalog! Dashing Deer. You can buy the stamp set and thinlits separately if you want to but you get a 10% discount if you buy them both as a bundle.

DSC_0008

I used Merry Merlot Cardstock and Stampin’Pad to create all the cards.

The Copper Glimmer Paper really adds a beautiful touch and coordinates with the copper images in the Joyous Noel Specialty Designer Series Paper. I inserted the Merry Christmas ( which is not included in this stamp set)  in the center of the panel.

I hope you all like my cards. Just had to display them! Below is a list of supplies I used to make the cards.

Just so you know, the purchase of this bundle alone will earn you 1 Papercraftingtime Point! Good towards a free $50 shopping Spree from me! Be sure to keep track of your points and let me know when you have earned 10 points.

The purchase of this Bundle also qualifies you for my Monthly Host Code Offer. In October the code is CRK4HQNY . More info on this offer can be found here.

Stamping with the Stamparatus

I wanted to show you guys how to use the Stamparatus! Believe me once you use this fabulous tool you will wonder how you ever survived without it! You can place your images precisely with this tool, or easily stamp multiples ( like Christmas cards or swaps).

Below are photos showing the steps I took to create my card. I used Sheltering Tree stamp set from the Annual Catalog

DSC_0001

The Stamparatus comes with two plates, two magnets, and a foam pad. Use the foam pad when using photopolymer stamps.

DSC_0002

Since I find the photopolyer stamps need even more height than the foam cushion supplies, I put a magnet card on top of the foam pad. The photo shows how to place your cardstock in the Stamparatus.

DSC_0003

I placed my tree image face down on my cardstock where I want the image to be. Note my stamp is stained and looks like I had already inked it up but it is not inked.

DSC_0004

In the above image I closed the lid (you can see the grid lines on the plate) to pick up the stamp on the lid.

DSC_0005

You can see the image adhered on the lid. It sticks great! You do not have to push hard on the plate to get it to stick.

DSC_0006.JPG

I am inking the image with Early Espresso Stampin’Pad. You will get a little ink on the plate but it will not transfer to your cardstock so no worries.

DSC_0007

View of image inked

I lowered the lid and gently pushed on the lid to stamp my image.

DSC_0010

I am satisfied with my stamped image, but if I wasn’t happy with it I could just re-ink the image and stamp again and the image would be darker. No need to worry the placement is spot on every time.

DSC_0013

I place the leaves image where I wanted it, boy that is what I like about photopolymer stamps, you can see through them!!

DSC_0021

I purposefully only partially inked the leaves with Old Olive Stampin’Pad.

DSC_0022

I cleaned off the stamp and re-inked the image with Crushed Curry Stampin’Pad.

DSC_0023

I have a look of leaves changing color.

I wanted to add the grass image, so I placed the image face down and picked it up by lowering the lid and inked it up with Old Olive Stampin’Pad

I wanted to add the rake and falling leaves image so I placed it in the same manner as above and picked it up on the lid by just lowering the lid onto the images. I inked the rake with Early Espresso Stampin’Pad and the leaves with the Crushed Curry Stampin’Pad. It would be easier to use the Stampin’Write Markers in those colors but I did not have them handy.

DSC_0036

Here is the completed scene built with the Stamparatus!

DSC_0005

Here is my completed card! I used Early Espresso, Crushed Curry and Very Vanilla Cardstock. I stamped the greeting with the Early Expresso Stampin’Pad. I added twine that I made from Burlap Ribbon.

DSC_0005

If you enjoy papercrafting I hope you consider buying the Stamparatus! Compared to other stamp positioning tools on the market the Stamparatus by Stampin’Up! is much more reasonably priced! It is high quality and you have 2 stamping surfaces that comes with the original Stamparatus purchase as well as a foam pad to use with photopolymer stamps. If using clear mount red rubber stamps you do not need the foam pad as these stamps have a foam cushion already adhered to the image.

Happy Papercrafting,

Shelly

Fall Cards with the Painted Harvest stamp set

DSC_0012

Can you tell I love this stamp set! I promise to move on to another stamp set after this post! It sure is fun to work with. You can do so much with it! This stamp set comes with images to build this flower in layers. It is fun to make flowers in different colors!

DSC_0014

I used the Buffalo Check Background stamp to make the center panel. You can find this background stamp in the new 2018 Holiday Catalog.  I stamped the flower with Daffodil Delight Stampin’Pad for the base of the flower and the accent image is stamped with Crushed Curry Stampin’Pad.

DSC_0013

I made a mask using a large post it note, the same size as my center panel and stamped the leaves with Old Olive Stampin’Pad. I also used the Leaf Punch to punch on the other leaf images. I added a twine bow that I made from the Burlap Ribbon.

leaf punch sample card

Here is a card made by the Stampin’Up! home office. Isn’t it just gorgeous? I love it! They used the leaf image in the stamp set to make the background on the card. It looks like they used Garden Green cardstock and the Garden Green Stampin’Pad to do this. To me it looks like the leaf was stamped Soft Suede Stampin’Pad on Lemon Lime Twist Cardstock. It is just perfect! So I plan to CASE this card for sure. The tiny acorn images and the designer series paper band across the bottom portion of the card are from paper that is currently retired. You can see the Burlap Ribbon and the white Twine on the card does add so much interest also. The wooden elements add a wonderful touch too!

I hope you enjoyed my cards today and they inspire you to CREATE!

More Card Ideas with Buffalo Check and Painted Harvest Stamp Set

DSC_0005

I have been playing with the Buffalo Check background stamp again! It seems to work well with the Painted Harvest Stamp Set! The color here is Rich Razzleberry. To make the flower I stamped off on scratch paper first with the Rich Razzleberry Stampin’Pad to get a pale image and then stamped the second image on top of the first without stamping off. Hope that makes sense! I had to fussy cut the flower with paper snips. There are no cutting dies with this set.

DSC_0003

I stamped and punched out the leaves with the Leaf Punch. But also stamped the other leaves that come in the set directly on the Whisper White cardstock.

DSC_0007

I added Soft Suede cardstock behind the Whisper White panel. Also the center of the flower is stamped with Soft Suede Stampin’Pad.

These are two of my favorite stamp sets from Stampin’Up!. Of course there are many ideas with both stamp sets. I have more to show you with both of these sets just by changing the layout and colors, so stay tuned.

I hope you enjoy my card and it inspires you to CREATE!

Using the Buffalo Check Background Stamp and StampinUp! News

DSC_0001

Here is another idea using this wonderful background stamp! This is the new background stamp called Buffalo Check from the new 2018 Holiday Catalog by Stampin’Up! I stamped the image on Real Red cardstock using the Memento Black Stamp Pad. The stamped panel is then layered on Thick Whisper White cardstock.

DSC_0003

Isn’t the reindeer cute! This is an image from the Cookie Cutter Christmas photopolymer stamp set which is in the Annual Catalog.  I simply stamped the image on Crumb Cake cardstock using the Memento Black Stamp Pad. I colored the antlers with the Crumb Cake Light Stampin’Blend Alcohol Marker. I used the Cookie Cutter Builder Punch to cut the image out.

Buffalo Check Background and Cat Punch

DSC_0007

It is sweltering hot and humid today in Minnesota! But I know I shouldn’t complain, at least we don’t have hurricanes here. It just seems like we get everything else though! Anyway, too hot to be outside, so it is perfect day to be inside in the air conditioning PAPERCRAFTING!

Here is what I made today! I wanted to show you more samples with the Buffalo Check Background Stamp. I made a halloween card and treat holder.  I used the Cat Punch as the focal point.

DSC_0010

I stamped happy halloween on a crumb cake piece of cardstock and added a pearl to the corner which I colored with a black sharpie.

DSC_0009

I punched out the cat with the Cat Punch and mounted on a circle of Crushed Curry cardstock.

DSC_0012

Here is the treat holder. Again using the punched out cat as the focal point! Don’t you just love the Buffalo Check Background stamp?

DSC_0013

This treat holder is so easy to make. Just cut to fit the width of your cello bag. Stampin’Up! does have 3 x 6 gusseted bags in the catalog. This particular bag is a flat bag. But the gusseted ones you can really make some cute treat holders that are 3-D.  I am out of the gusseted bags right now so I will show you one by Kathy Maurer a fellow Stampin’Up! Demonstrator.

Halloween Treat Bag made with Stampin' Up!'s Spooky Cat Stamp Set and Cat Punch. For details, go to my Wednesday, September 20, 2017 blog at http://www.stampinup.net/blog/2130686/entry/spooky_cat_treat_bag

Isn’t Kathy’s treat holder just darling!  I made a bunch of these last year for Halloween, which is why I am out of the gusseted bags. It is time to reorder these, they are so much fun to work with and I like the fact that they will stand alone.

I hope you all like my projects! I sure enjoyed making them. Supplies will be listed below. Be sure to take time to CREATE! It is good for you!

Buffalo Check Background Stamp meets Painted Harvest Stamp Set

DSC_0001

This is a quick and easy card, other than fussy cutting the flower! I love background stamps! They add so much to a card. I just stamped the Buffalo Check background stamp with Cajun Craze Stampin’Pad on Cajun Craze cardstock.

DSC_0004

I also used the new Corrungated Dynamic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder to make the Crumb Cake cardstock panel. The flower was stamped with So Saffron Stampin’Pad first and then the second stamp to the flower was stamped with Cajun Craze Stampin’Pad, the center was stamped with Soft Suede Stampin’Pad. The leaves were stamped with Old Olive Stampin’Pad and then punched out with the Leaf Punch.

DSC_0007

I always add a piece of white or vanilla cardstock to the inside of cards that are made with dark cardsock. You can’t see the inside panel very well due to the shadow but I stamped  a little acorn from the Painted Harvest Stamp set in the bottom left corner and stamped a greeting from the stamp set on the inside.

I hope you enjoy my card and it inspires you to CREATE! I plan to work more with this new background stamp so stay tuned.
